Pics & Bees

Seriously, have you ever tried to take a picture of a honey bee with a 10 mile per hour wind on a tender lavender plant?  Well the struggle was real people!

The coolest thing, while I was out weeding the lavender beds I noticed  bees still doing their bee thing and you know I had to let them “be”, after all, life depends on the survival of those obscure tiny flying creatures.  Smile people!!

I was up for the challenge – I was determined to get a clear shot of those bees.  Couldn’t they just slow down for  seconds?! They were so busy and did not seem to be bothered by what must feel like tornado style wind to them.  So here are a few of my attempts to catch a clear shot of those bees enjoying the succulent blooms on our lush lavender plants.

To our delight, we have experienced a late bloom of lavender.  These are the plants we started from seeds back in February.  The plants seemed extremely fragile in the early months.  I believe I wrote another blog about their state and how I wasn’t sure they were going to make it and how we tenderly cared for them all summer, but now the bed is overflowing in lavender growth!! WOW! They have exceeded our expectation.

Amazing really, we can look at the condition of our circumstances and lose hope or find ourselves doubting the outcome, but underneath the surface things are moving and changing; creating an atmosphere for growth.   I must tell you, I was incredibly encouraged when I noticed all the growth that had taken place in my lavender garden.  Those 40 plants that could not have been any bigger than a toothpick and a 4th of the thickness are now strong and full of blooms!!  These pics is the lavender I picked this weekend from those 40 strong plants- beautiful and fragrant!

This has reminded me not to look on the surface at my situations and circumstances, but to believe in faith that God is moving on my behalf to produce what He sees fit to produce in my life.  I just need to be willing to put myself trust in the process and agree not to look through my natural eyes at a supernatural world.

I’m sharing one of my life scriptures with you today.  This passage has carried me through many difficult times.  I’ve come to realize, this is a scripture that requires surrender; surrender to God’s sovereignty, His faithfulness, and His fatherhood.  As believers of Christ, we must begin to understand our finality as compared to His infinity.  God is a big picture being and we are not.  He knows the end from the beginning.  Someday we will get to know as He knows….. That will be mind-blowing!!!

Isaiah 55:8&9  8“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD. 9“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts.…
